About Calligram Creator
What is Calligram Creator? Calligram Creator
is a software application to
create a Calligram, an Emojigram and a Legogram from a (snapshot)
picture. The source can be from a
tethered digital camera, or from an (external) webcam or video camera. The output is a
Calligram (text), an Emojigram (images) or a brick mosaic (lego bricks). The brick output also
involves the building blueprint with the actual
amounts of brick, for each colour and brick combination. Each Calligram, Emojigram, etc. (and blueprint
for brick mosaic) can be sent by e-mail, printed, reprinted, or recreated. All the results are stored at
a predefined location, while a pragmatic and convenient data logging engine is available
to manage all the client outputs. From left to right: Calligram, Emojigram, Legogram.
Easy installation and quick
start The Canon
EOS interface is a proprietary library. The Canon Digital Camera
SDKs are software development kits that provide an interface for accessing Canon
digital cameras and image data captured by Canon digital cameras. The SDKs are
provided as a library that can link to application software (link to the Canon
developer website).
Face detection is based on the OpenCV (Intel's Open Source Computer
Vision Library) library, and is incorporated in the application under the BSD
license, hence it’s free for both academic and commercial use. Details of the
library is found here: https://opencv.org/. The used dll
('VCOpenCV.dll') and the heuristic facial features data ('frontalface.xml')
is allowed under the BSD license.
Skin
detection is based on global publically
released (government research, university, expert opinions) studies and
papers on skin colours. The skin
detection uses several sources, combined into new skin detection
approach.
